Chief's Luau - Our Story & Tradition

Great luau! Chief is informing about culture and customs while having an awesome sense of humor! The food was excellent and they encouraged us to have our fill! The more you participate the more fun you have. We were given a table up front and one person in our party was taken on stage, another was given fresh coconut, and we all got up for a dance honoring marriage. The main themes are the Polynesian culture and love of family!!! We have gone a few times with different friends and it never disappoints… always worth it!!!

Our first time at a Luau and it was amazing! We went for our wedding anniversary and they made it extra special♡So much fun and entertaining. I love all their culture! Chief did an awesome job! Mahalo everyone!

Great show. High energy. Funny.The event is held at a waterpark which had closed for the day, but honestly, it didn't bother me it was not at a 'more cultural' location. The staff was very attentive and engaging. The food was nothing fancy, buffet style, but good. There was plenty and it was all you can eat.Drink line was slow but manageable. I liked they had water coolers on hand.I was unhappy with one aspect, the parking. After paying $150 per ticket, I had to pay an additional $12 to park. The Chief. The Band and the Dancers. The reason for the five stars. Chief Sielu was funny. The man is quite the entertainer, I wish could have seen his show 10-15 years ago. He gave cultural information but played to the crowd with recognizable one-liners. The Band was a great back-up to the dancers who did a great job showing dances and costumes from throughout the south pacific. While I have nothing to compare it to, I liked it and chose it because it got good reviews here. No need to go again but not a bad pick. A strong contender for the first-timer.

Excellent time!We were there June 1st. Pick up from near our hotel in Waikiki and return to the same. Easy to locate, comfortable coach.This luau is at a water park, but seperate area.Great staff, fantastic show, hilarious chief/host. Dancing, especially the fire dances were awesome. Great musicians.Good food, lots to eat, drinks were generous, good selection.Leis on arrival, get the up front seating.You will really enjoy this! We did!!

Great transportation from a nearby hotel Waikili to the Chief's Luau in Kapolei and back. The food and drinks were very good but the highlight of the evening was Chief Sielu and his fire knife dancers. The Chief is a great Ambassador for Polynesian culture and a great entertainer. We had a great time!

I thought this would be really cheesy but I was pleasantly surprised. We were picked up by bus and driven about an hour through rush hour traffic to a water park/Luau site. The bathrooms were nice but a bit further from the site. The meal was great and worth it. The show itself got better as time went on. It finished about 8pm. Great showcase for Hawaii and the Pacific Islands that make the Pacific unique. It had a great family atmosphere and we came away feeling it was money well spent.

As a family, we have been to six different luau. The Chief's Luau blew the others away. The Chief and his family (and others) provided, by far, the best show and the Chief is not only funny but a great storyteller. The venue is perfect. The food is very good and the value is outstanding. It is well worth the drive from Honolulu. We would definitely go back!
