ROMANTIC ACTIVITIES IN THE ISLANDS

Romantic Activities in Hawaii

With so much to love about Hawaii, it’s only natural to want to celebrate your romance in the islands. And with scenery straight out of a picture book, it’s easy to show aloha for the one you adore any day of the year.

And you don’t need to celebrate a honeymoon or anniversary to make the most of your Hawaii vacation. The truth is, any spot can be considered paradise when you’re with your special someone. But here are five romantic and swoon-worthy Oahu date ideas that will sweep you and your ku’uipo (sweetheart) off your feet.

Picnic at Lanikai Beach

Celebrated around the world for its calm and crystal clear waters, Lanikai Beach is a hot spot for visiting beachgoers and local residents. Pack a picnic of your favorite foods and get ready for a day of sandy toes and salt water kisses. Or arrive just before sunset with some pau hana (happy hour) snacks and soak in a dazzling performance put on by Mother Nature.

City Lights at Tantalus Lookout

After the lights go on in the city, there is still lots to do to keep the romance alive. Make any night a date night with a scenic drive up Tantalus, a popular ‘lovers lane’ for couples across the island. On any given day, this romantic hideaway is home to breathtaking panoramic views of Diamond Head, Waikiki, and Punchbowl – but by night it’s the ideal spot for viewing city lights. It also makes for the perfect place to relax on a clear night and count stars, just don’t forget a blanket and jacket. It’s known to get a little chilly!

Hike Manoa Falls

Take a leap of love and let your relationship reach new heights with a dreamy trek through Manoa Valley. Ditch the traditional date attire and lace up those hiking boots for a quiet and romantic 1.5-mile retreat through a tropical bamboo rainforest that will lead you to a beautiful 150-foot cascading waterfall.

Fireworks at Magic Island

Hawaii is known for its fiery and colorful skies, but every Friday Oahu’s skies light up – literally — with the Hilton Hawaiian Village fireworks show at 7:45 p.m. Keep the flame burning with your special someone and pick up or pack your own picnic dinner at Magic Island Beach Park or the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach and watch your love ignite.
