A Visitor’s Guide to Hawaii Dining & Cuisine
Hawaii’s is known by many to be a melting pot of many unique cultures. The same is also true with the Island’s eclectic cuisine, not to mention its restaurant and dining scene. Visitors to Hawaii have the opportunity to try a variety of Asian cuisine including Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese while those accustomed to western tastes can find a large number of restaurants catering to ‘American’ food lovers.
First time visitors to the islands should definitely experience Hawaii’s own fusion of fine dining called Hawaii Regional Cuisine, which was started in the early 1990′s by twelve of Hawaii’s most talented chefs. Their efforts put Hawaii on the international fine dining map which utilizes fresh locally grown ingredients and inspired by a fusion of other cuisines brought by immigrants to the islands.
