Enjoy Maui's beautiful west side or journey to the remotely isolated town of Hana

The Island of Maui, also known as the Valley Isle, is Hawaii's second largest island and home to a wide variety of visitor attractions. On Maui, you can find everything from miles of pristine white sand beaches to tours of historic towns filled with rich history and endless culture. Maui visitors will also find an infinite array of ocean and water related activities overlooking scenic landscapes.

There are three airports servicing Maui -- Kahului Airport, Kapalua West-Maui Airport, and Hana Airport (limited service). Most visitors fly into Kahului Airport, which can accommodate larger aircraft and more flights in and out of Maui. Kahului Airport also provides travelers with a large selection of rentals cars and shuttle buses.

Visitors should plan enough time to participate in a few essential Maui activities. One highlight is the drive to the remote town of Hana, located on the island's north side. A 60 mile stretch of road, known as Hana Highway, links the isolated town of Hana with the rest of Maui. The drive is quite a journey but offers some of the most breathtaking scenery on the island.

Another highly recommended sightseeing activity is a trek up to the summit of Haleakala National Park, Maui's only volcano and the highest peak on the island. A sightseeing tour of Haleakala offers visitors a great sightseeing adventure with photo opportunities and close encounters with indigenous species, tropical rain forests, and stunning volcanic mountain terrain.

Lastly, no trip is complete without visiting Maui's historic town of Lahaina. Lahaina town has a rich history and offers an array of visitor activities, including Maui luaus, boat tours, submarine tours, and fishing charters, all surrounded by the sights and sounds of the sprawling town situated in Lahaina Harbor.
