Relax and Feel Like Family

Smith’s Family Garden Luau is a real celebration of family, tradition, and Polynesian cultures. Four generations of the Smith Family invite you to join them at a family style luau. It all starts with a warm welcome and a shell lei greeting.

Begin your visit by wandering through the 30-acre gardens or take a narrated tram tour. After you’re finished exploring, witness the Imu Ceremony where the roast pig is removed from an underground oven. Then relax with a cocktail while members of the Smith Family give special musical performances featuring traditional Hawaiian songs.

Enjoy the feast of traditional luau favorites and local specialties made from special Smith Family recipes. Make sure to save room for the tropical desserts.

Traditional torch runners signal the beginning of the evening’s entertainment. The performances pay homage to the cultures of China, Japan, Hawaii, New Zealand, Philippines, Samoa, and Tahiti.

Driving Directions

From the North (Hanalei, Princeville, Kapaa)
Take Hwy. 56 South through Kapaa to the Wailua River. Go past Kuamoo Road, over the river, and take the first right into the Wailua Marina State Park.

From the South (Waimea, Poipu, Lihue)
Take Hwy. 56 North from the Lihue Airport. A mile after the Wailua Golf Course, watch for Marina signs and the beach on the right. Just before crossing the Wailua River bridge, turn into the Wailua Marina State Park.
